Weekly Update: Raspberry Volume Mod to High. What does this mean? You will most likely find all the berries you want, but your time picking them will be longer.
Weekly Update: Weekly Raspberry Volume: Now a solid moderate volume of berries. Which means you will most likely find all the berries you want, but your time picking them will be longer.
Weekly Update 7/27/16 Raspberry volume: low to moderate. What does this volume level mean? It means you are going to spend more time finding your berries, and you might not find as many as you want. High season for raspberries is mid August and September. If you are coming from a distance, and want to pick a lot of berries, I'd wait until that time. Just so you know, by late Sunday afternoon and evening the volume level can drop to extreme lows.
What does low to moderate volume mean? It means you are going to spend more time finding your berries, and you might not find as many as you want. High season for raspberries is August and September. If you are coming from a distance, I'd wait until that time. Just so you know, by Sunday afternoon and evening I am often picked out for berries. One more note, please remember that I have a no pets policy (not even on a leash). It makes everyone sad (including me) when I have to come out and tell you that. It's a liability issue
Hi Berry Buddies! I had a customer today who was very disappointed with the volume of blackberries available. I feel sad about that, so I thought I would try and clarify what I mean by a limited volume. I have three rows of blackberries. They will continue to produce new berries everyday until the frost kills them. How fast they ripen up is up to nature. However, everyday there are ripe blackberries. If the day starts out with very eager blackberry pickers, then all the blackberries for that day will have been harvested. Please do not drive a great distance to pick blackberries, you may be disappointed.
On the other hand, my champion raspberry picker was out today. He is up to 60 pints! He told me he couldn't understand why more people weren't out here picking with him. He says the raspberries are really good! I have a HIGH volume of raspberries my friends! Come on out! :)
Another reminder….berry picking days will come to an end in about a month. Pick those berries and preserve them to enjoy all winter long! The raspberries are plentiful, and there is a limited volume of blackberries. The weather is beautiful, the bugs are departing, and a big slice of peace is waiting for you!
Hi Berry Buddies
Thursday (9/3/15) update. Red Raspberries now at HIGH VOLUME. I have recently sent reminder emails to everyone on my email list. I only send 2 to 3/year. If you did not get the email and would like to get future emails, just send me the email address at Christine@upberries.com
Hi Berry Buddies!
Thursday (8/13/15) update!. I'm cautiously moving the status up to a moderate volume. Just to let you know, when you come out you will see some thinned areas in the raspberries. This was caused by the historic rain fall this past Spring. While it doesn't look pretty, the plants are regenerating, All is well!
Hi Berry Buddies! Exciting news....this coming Sunday (July 19th) You Pick Berries will be part of the DeKalb Farm Stroll. This is a day highlighting small farms in the county. If you want to read more about it, search DeKalb County Farm Stroll on Facebook. I will be giving an "owners" talk/walk/tour at 12 and 2. My bee keeper will be present for honey samples and sales. In addition, he will give a bee talk at 1 and 3. It should make a nice addition to a day of great berry picking! Hope you can make it out.
Hi Berry Buddies! I just wanted to say thanks for the great turn out for the 4th. As a result I'm pretty much all picked out of Early Red Raspberries and Blueberries. You are always welcome to come out and do a berry search, but I wanted to let those of you who might be traveling a distance that the pickings will be slim for several days while the berry volume rebuilds!
We now have an abundant volume or Early Red Raspberries. That's the good news. The bad news is that the Blueberries took a turn for the worse late this Spring. The abundant rain rapidly leached all the acid (necessary for blueberreis) out of the soil, sending many plants into sudden death. There will be s SMALL volume available later in July. After this year my efforts with blueberreis will be over. On the bright side, next year, I have a whole new section of black raspberries coming up!
We are gearing up for a great season of berry picking! This Spring has brought plentiful rain. Rain + Heat = BERRIES! Stay tuned for the opening date (mid July).
Closed for the season. Thank you everyone!
We are on our last week for picking berries! Still lots of red raspberries left to pick, and some blackberries! I will be closing at end of day on Sunday Oct. 19th. Come on out and get them while you can! If you would like to be on my email reminder list (I only send out about 3-4/year) please send you email address to firstname.lastname@example.org There have been some email address' that I have received, but they will not go through. Enjoy the last of the berry days!
Hi Berry Buddies! Well the season is winding down, but there are still high volumes of red raspberries and some blackberries. My last day for berry picking will be Sunday Oct. 19th. So make those plans to come out and stock up for the long winter months!
It looks like we are going to miss the frost. There are still tons of berries to pick!
There still a couple more summer-like days left to pick! There is a chance of frost on Saturday night, so make plans to come out soon and pick!

Blackberries: NOW PICKING These are thorny, so use caution while picking!
The berries are thick, and will remain that way until frost freezes them. Come out and get them while they last! Keep a taste of summer all winter long.
HIGH VOLUME PICKING. Please note that on any given day enthusiastic pickers can lower the available volume amount.
And just like that we have gone to HIGH VOLUME. Please note that on any given day enthusiastic pickers can lower the available volume amount.
HI Berry Buddies! I had this space created so I could "talk" to you like I do for people on my Facebook site. (I know some of you are not on facebook) Anyway, the update information for now is that the berry volume is zooming. We are easily at Moderate volume, however, that doesn't mean that the volume level can't drop to Low if there are lots of enthusiastic pickers. Tip of the week: The best berry volumes are at midweek. Lowest volumes typically occur by late Sunday afternoon.
One more note. I do not have a business phone. I am a one person operation and I just can't do it all! Every question I've ever been asked has been addressed on this website. I'm pretty sure whatever you need to know can be found here. Thanks for your understanding!
